Tom Walsh, head coach at Wissahickon from 2013-14 and former captain at Ursinus College, has been named an assistant coach at Connecticut College.
Walsh was most recently an assistant at Hamden-Sydney College. As part of the Tigers’ staff, Walsh’s responsibilities included coaching team defense and face-offs. Hampden-Sydney finished fourth in the ODAC in goals against average, and first in the conference in face-off percentage at 68%.

Walsh joined the Hampden-Sydney Lacrosse staff in September of 2014, after leading Wissahickon to a 29-10 record in two seasons and guiding the Trojans to their first PIAA District tournament win.
Walsh is a 2010 graduate of Ursinus College where he was a two-year team captain and 2010 assist leader for a Bear squad that had strong success during his four years.
At Smithtown West High School, one of the most competitive programs on Long Island, N.Y., Walsh was varsity team captain and recipient of the Kenneth Watson Memorial Award while garnering All-County honors in 2006. He was also a member of the 2003 team that won the Suffolk County Championship.
“I’m thrilled to have Tom join our staff,” Cornell said. “Both Coach Steele and Coach Rostan, two men I have the utmost respect for, rave about Tom’s leadership abilities in addition to his knowledge of the game. I think Tom is the perfect guy for where we are in our program’s history. He has already been a tremendous addition on the recruiting trails. We are a young team right now but have talent. I believe Tom brings all of the attributes we’re looking for to help lead our program back to national prominence.”
The Camels will open the 2016 season March 5 with a NESCAC game at Middlebury College in Middlebury, Vt.
