From Press Release
Warrior Lacrosse, one of the industry’s leading equipment manufacturers, announced that it has signed a multi-year sponsorship deal with defenseman Tucker Durkin (Bryn Athyn men’s coach, Duke’s L.C. assistant, La Salle College High grad) of the Florida Launch. As the newest Warrior Pro, Durkin joins a roster of pros that includes many of the game’s best players and biggest names.
“I couldn’t be more excited to join the Warrior family,” said Durkin who begins his fifth season of MLL play next summer. “I’m so impressed with the direction the company is headed and am proud to join them in representing, promoting, and growing the great sport of lacrosse. I can’t wait to use the Warp next season. It’s without a doubt the future of lacrosse. I’m also very excited to announce that the team I coach – the men’s lacrosse program at Bryn Athyn College – will be working with Warrior for all our equipment needs in the seasons ahead.”
Durkin helped lead La Salle to consecutive state championships in 2008-09 and was the Phillylacrosse.com Player of the Year in 2009. He went on to play at Johns Hopkins University, where he quickly emerged as a leader on the defensive end of the field. A four-year starter at Hopkins, Durkin was a 2-time winner of the William C. Schmeisser Award (nation’s top defenseman), a 2-time First Team All-American, and a Tewaaraton Finalist. He was selected as the third overall pick in the 2013 MLL Draft and has been named to the All-MLL Team in each of his four years in the league.
“We’re very excited about this new partnership with Tucker,” said Owen Murtagh, Warrior’s Brand Manager of Lacrosse. “He’s one of the best players in the league and he shares our passion for advancing the sport through groundbreaking, innovative equipment. We can’t wait to see what he’s able to do with the Warp next season.”
