Zach Peng, a midfielder for Swarthmore College Men’s Lacrosse, had one of the most memorable athletic experiences of his life this summer—playing in the Federation of International Lacrosse U-19 World Championships in Coquitlam, British Columbia. Peng played for England’s squad, helping the team to a fifth-place finish.

“I have always wanted to represent my heritage in sports,” he said. “It was an incredibly humbling experience knowing that when you walk on the field, you not only represent yourself and your team, but an entire country.”

In six games played, Peng tallied four goals and four assists. He recorded a hat trick that proved to be very important in a 13-9 win over Germany. Then against Israel, Peng helped England secure fifth-place with a goal and an assist in the 10-7 win.

Peng added that this international experience has helped him prepare for the upcoming season at Swarthmore, noting that playing against some of the best players in the world helped him see areas of his own game he can continue to improve on.
