The Philly region’s top box lacrosse coaches have teamed up to form Penn*Lax All-Stars. Penn*Lax will consist of one High School team and one Middle School team.
Both teams will compete in three of the nations top box tournaments this winter, as well as the nations top box lacrosse tournament, the US Box Lacrosse Nationals in California next summer. Penn*Lax is uniquely designed as to not conflict with your current travel team. Players will reap the amazing benefits of playing box lacrosse against the top competition in the US and travel the country and train with the best players in the state of Pennsylvania.
Tryouts: *Qualified players can play up in age *Attendance at both tryouts recommended but not required *Only serious and experienced lacrosse players need apply, box experience not necessary but high level field experience is a requirement. *Rules and gameplay will be thoroughly covered at tryouts.
High School (competing in 1998/1999 birth year division at nationals)
Tryout #1: Sunday 10/18 @MSI 6:30-8:00pm
Tryout #2: Monday 10/19 @BucksmontISC 6:00-7:30pm
Middle School (competing in 2002/2003 birth year division at nationals)
Tryout #1: Sunday 10/18 @MSI 5:00-6:30pm
Tryout #2: Monday 10/26 @BucksmontISC 6:00-7:30pm
(Tryout cost: $65 covering box jersey and two sessions)

Head Coach, Steven Holmes: Coach Holmes is a 8 year veteran standout defenseman of the National Lacrosse League playing for both the San Jose Stealth and Philadelphia Wings since 2006. Holmes is also a current defenseman for the Major League Lacrosse New York Lizards and won an MLL title with them this past summer. Holmes is the current defensive coordinator for Malvern Prep and enjoyed a perfect 24-0 record with MP in 2014. Holmes also has a national championship ring as an assistant coach for UVA in 2011. Coach Holmes has had numerous other stints as head coach and assistant coach at the high school level since 2006 including coaching US Box Lacrosse academies throughout the country during that span.
Offensive Coordinator, Adam Mueller: Coach Mueller is the current offensive coach for Team USA indoor team which is currently competing in the World Games this September in Buffalo. Mueller is arguably the most accomplished box coach in the country. Coach Mueller has coached three different National Lacrosse League teams to the playoffs and remains the only coach in history to do so. He was the NLL coach of the year in 2008 with the New York Titans. Mueller has spent 19 years as either a player or coach in the National Lacrosse League. He has three titles under his belt including two as a player with the Philadelphia Wings. Coach Mueller has also been a long time coach for both MESA and Old School Lacrosse Clubs.
Offensive Coach, Kevin Crowley: Coach Crowley is a 5 year veteran of the National Lacrosse League and is a current star of the Toronto Rock. Crowley most recent success came when he scored the first FIVE goals of the game for team Canada in their gold medal game vs Team USA leading them to victory. Coach Crowley was Major League Lacrosse MVP in 2013 and was a Tewarraton finalist as a standout midfielder for Stoney Brook University. Crowley remains the only player in history to have been drafted #1 in both professional leagues. Coach Crowley is a current Midfielder for the Chesapeake Bayhawks and the offensive coordinator at the Shipley School.
Assistant Coach, Luke Wiles: Coach Wiles was a 8-year veteran of the National Lacrosse League playing for both the San Jose Stealth and the Buffalo Bandits. Wiles received a full scholarship to the University of Delaware having only played box lacrosse and had a strong career at UD. A natural goal scorer, Wiles has scored over 250 goals in his professional career and was 3-time all-star. Just recently Coach Wiles was announced the head coach of Archbishop Carroll high school.
General Manager, Matt McCormick: Coach McCormick is a current assistant coach at Malvern Prep and the lacrosse general manager at MP as well. McCormick was a two-time Captain at Drexel University and defenseman earning all-league honors. After his playing career McCormick stepped on as an assistant coach at Drexel University before moving on to Penn Charter and most recently to his Alma Mater Malvern Prep. Coach McCormick will be handling all logistical and managerial duties for Penn*Lax MCCORMICK@PLAYFUSIONLAX.COM
Penn*Lax all-stars joins the elite community of charter US Box Lacrosse clubs including Cali*Lax All-Stars (Directed by US BoxLa President Shaydon Santos) and Denver Elite (Directed by US BoxLa Co-Founder Matt Brown current national championship coach with Denver) among many other quality clubs directed by current or former NLL players.
