Nick Salameda

High School: Archmere Academy, DE

Graduation Year: 2017

Position: LSM

College Choice: Colgate University

Club Affiliation: Baltimore Crabs

Lacrosse Honors: All-State Honorable Mention, 3rd Team All-State

What will you major in/study? Economics / Physics

Why did you choose Colgate? “I chose Colgate because of the genuine balance between the academics, athletics, and social aspects that should be encapsulated in a college experience. If you ask most D1 athletes what they do with their free time, they’ll probably respond with saying that they don’t have very much of it. I was looking for a rigorous academic curriculum, successful lacrosse program, and a brotherhood that can be found within the lacrosse team; and after visiting Colgate University, I knew that I had found what I was looking for.”

Outlook for 2016 HS season? “I think that the 2016 season will be successful for Archmere Lacrosse. I believe that we will make it to the state tournament and hopefully we will be able to make it further than last year.”

Thank You: “I would like to thank both of my parents for supporting me 100% of the way since second grade; I know driving an hour and a half four times a week to Baltimore for practices were a challenge for you but I am very grateful that you figured it was worth it.

“I would also like to thank all of my coaches from the Baltimore Crabs: Coach Ryan McClernan, Coach Andy Shilling, Coach Brad Rodier, and Coach Duncan Booth.

“Lastly, I would like to thank my high school coach, Coach Pete Duncan, for his support through this process. He has been a mentor to me for on and off the field. Thank you all.”
