The tourney: O2 Lacrosse is excited to announce its first annual O2 Skyline Box Lacrosse Invitational open to high school and youth programs.
Box Lacrosse is quicker version of standard field lacrosse and is played on a concrete, indoor surface (usually a street hockey rink) between two teams of six.
As the sport’s following has grown in the United States, the simplified, rapid-pace style of box lacrosse has become increasingly popular amongst viewers and players alike.
However, box lacrosse also provides players of all ages the opportunity to continue to hone their skills while adapting on the fly to a more fast-paced and confined style of play.
The tournament will take place over the course of two weekends, with each of the four days being dedicated to a single age group. This will allow players, coaches and spectators to focus on age appropriate skill improvement and competition without being distracted by other levels of play. Each age group will compete in a championship-style tournament, guaranteeing every team three games plus an additional championship game for two teams.
