Willaimson Trade juniors Rob Magee (Strath Haven, midfielder) and goalie Anthony Mariani (Warrens, NY) were named to the 2017 USCAA All-Academic Lacrosse team for their efforts, both on and off the field, during Williamson’s 2017 lacrosse season. The pair give Williamson a school record 14 All-Academic team honors during the 2016-17 school year.

While Magee’s skills as a midfielder were helpful to the team, it was his incredible face-off winning skills that set him apart from everyone else Williamson played against. Known as one of the top face-off players in the entire NCLL, he won an almost unheard of 81% at the X.

Mariani was the anchor of the defense for a second straight year. Game after game, he made incredible save after incredible save, in helping to guide Williamson to one of their most successful seasons in recent memory.

In order to be considered for the All-Academic team, players must have at least a 3.50 Grade Point Average, as well as be a starter and major contributor to a team’s success. Both Magee and Mariani played key roles in Williamson finishing 6-3 on the year and qualifying for the National Collegiate Lacrosse League play-offs for the first time in four years.
