Duke’s–Twist Division will hold its player evaluation sessions on Sunday, September 10th from 2-4 at Shipley School as part of the season’s first Ricky Whelan Dukes Instructional/Evaluation Clinics.
Info and on-line registration info can be found at: www.dukeslax-twist.com
The Ricky Whelan clinics, in their 11th year, are used to instruct ALL players on advanced skill development, while working on weaknesses and refining advanced fundamentals to be effective in a PLAY FAST/DECISION MAKING environment.
All current Dukes program players and players seeking to join Dukes Lacrosse Club or from other club teams should attend as we implement a lot of its defensive terminology and offensive gameplay during those four Sunday sessions to get ready for fall and future summer events. Players will be selected to Dukes Program rosters – 2023-2019 and Dukes Young Guns, Dukes Nationals, Dukes MainLine and Dukes Elite HS – during the clinic sessions who consistently demonstrate the ability to execute in drills, display their athleticism, and have coachable traits we are looking for in a student-athlete.
Confirmed guest coaches who will speak before the clinics are Dave Pietramala (Head Coach Johns Hopkins) on Sunday the 10th, Justin Axel (Assistant Salisbury University) on 9/17, and a coach TBA on 9/24.
The host site for the tryouts and clinics is: The Shipley Schools Main Campus Field (Fuller Field).
GPS Address: The Shipley School Main Campus Fields, 126 N. Merion Avenue, Bryn Mawr, Pa.
