Michael Sowers (Upper Dublin) has been named the Ivy League Rookie of the Week after his five-goal, four-assist performance in Princeton’s games against Marist and Hofstra.

Sowers began the week with two goals and three assists in the 10-6 win over the Red Foxes Tuesday. He then had his first career three-goal game, along with an assist, in Princeton’s 10-8 loss to Hofstra Saturday.

Through three games, Sowers leads Princeton with 16 points, on seven goals and a team-best nine assists. He has more points after three games than any freshman in Princeton history.

To date this century, only 14 Princeton players have ever had 16 points for an entire freshman season. Sowers has done it in three games. He already ranks 10th all-time among Princeton freshman for assists with nine.

Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week
GREG WOZNIAK, BOSTON UNIVERSITY Sr., D/LSM, Holy Ghost Prep

Greg Wozniak (Holy Ghost Prep) played a crucial role in helping the Terrier’s defeat No. 17/18 Navy on Saturday, limiting the three starting attackers to no goals or assists. The senior collected seven groundballs and held starting midfielder Greyson Torain without an even-strength goal.
