The Duke’s Lacrosse Club Nationals U11 squad advanced to tomorrow morning’s semifinals of the Dick’s NDP lacrosse Tournament of Champions in Wesley Chapel, FL.
Dukes, the No. 2 seed after going 4-0 in pool play, defeated Louisville Kings Select 2023 (KY) 9-1 in the first round of the playoffs. Dukes will meet No. 3 seed Palm Beach Revolution (FL) – a 10-4 winner over Valley Select 2023 (VA) – in the semis at 8 a.m. The top seed is Long Island’s Team 91.
In the U13 division, the Duke’s LC Nationals and Stars and Stripes of Lehigh Valley each fell today in the playoffs.
Duke’s dropped a tough 9-8 decision in overtime to Tampa Tarpons (FL), which then toppled Stars and Stripes, 5-3. Tamps will meet Carolina Lite (NC) in the title game. Stars and Stripes will play Lax Nation (GA) Saturday in the third-place game while Dukes meets Valley Rhino Chasers (VA) in a consolation game.
