Two Lehigh men’s lacrosse games are set to air live nation-wide on CBS Sports Network. The Mountain Hawks’ games at Navy on Mar. 25 (11:30 a.m.) and at Loyola on Apr. 8 (1 p.m.) will be televised live on the network. Both teams advanced to the NCAA Quarterfinals last season.
Lehigh and Navy will square off on the 25th in Annapolis. Last season, the Midshipmen earned a 12-7 win in Bethlehem while two years ago, Navy captured a slim 13-12 final the last time the teams played at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium. Prior to the 2015 matchup, Lehigh had won five straight against the Mids, which included a 9-4 win at Navy in 2012, a game that was also televised on CBS Sports Network.
Two weeks later, the Mountain Hawks will head to Loyola on Apr. 8 for another nationally-televised showdown as Lehigh will face defending National Semifinalist Loyola. Last season, the Mountain Hawks and Greyhounds played an 11-10 thriller which saw Loyola outscore Lehigh 3-1 in the fourth quarter to pull out the narrow win.
Lehigh’s 2017 schedule includes two of last season’s final four teams, including defending National Champion North Carolina, along with Loyola. The Mountain Hawks also face Stony Brook, Princeton and Cornell in the nonleague while facing an always challenging Patriot League slate as they will vie for their seventh straight Patriot League Tournament appearance. Among last season’s standouts, and the top returnees in 2017, are long-stick midfielder Craig Chick, the nation’s leader with 37 caused turnovers, and attackman Tristan Rai, who finished 2016 second on the Mountain Hawks in goals (31) and points (41).
