The Ohio State men’s lacrosse team welcomed 12 freshmen to the program this fall. The class includes players from 10 states and provinces, with two from both Massachusetts and Pennsylvania and one from British Columbia, California, Florida, Maryland, New York, Ohio, Ontario and Virginia.

“We are adding a great group of men to the Buckeye family,” Nick Myers, Ohio State head coach, said. “As a whole, they address the needs we had following the graduation of last year’s seniors. They have developed through strong high school programs from a diverse group of states and provinces. All of the freshmen are outstanding athletically and are great students who are excited to be Buckeyes.”

Christian Feliziani
Faceoff, 5-9, 165
Boothwyn, Pa./ Episcopal Academy

2016 U19 World Championship: Won a gold medal with Team USA … played in all six games, picking up 17 groundballs and winning 33-of-47 faceoffs.

Episcopal Academy: Four-year letterwinner … two-time US Lacrosse All-American … two-time first team all-state, all-area and all-league honoree … Under Armour All-American … four-year member of NXT Lacrosse club … three year letterman in football and two-time letterwinner in wrestling … school’s all-time receiving yards leader in football; was a three-time all-county selection and a first team all-league honoree as a senior … all county honoree in wrestling.

Personal: Son of Lucy and Anthony… has two sisters, Ariana and Felicity, and a brother, Anthony… enjoys spending time with his family, playing sports and fishing.

Feliziani on why he chose Ohio State:
“I chose Ohio State because of the combination of great academics and great athletics. I grew up a Buckeye fan and knew the moment I stepped on campus it is the place for me. I felt a strong connection with Coach Myers when I first met him and immediately knew I would love to play for him.”

Ryan Terefenko

Sinking Springs, Pa./Wilson

Wilson: 2016 Berks County Player of the Year and first team all-county … two-time captain … won team’s Offensive MVP award … Top 5 in the state in points (127) and assists (64); assist total was a District 3 record for a single season … member of four county championship squads and team won district title in 2016 … All-American … played for NXT lacrosse club … also played soccer and earned second team all-county honors and was a two-time letterwinner as a goalie for the water polo team.

Personal: Son of Donna and Mark … has two older siblings, Zack and Maddie, who is on the women’s lacrosse team at Oregon … would like to be a lacrosse coach … enjoys hiking, playing ping pong and watching movies.

Terefenko on why he chose Ohio State:
“I chose Ohio State because of the numerous majors and the academic opportunities it provides. The rich history, traditions and athletic facilities are second to none. Also, I wanted to compete for Big Ten championships and national championships. Combine all of that with a great coaching staff and I just knew Ohio State was the right place for me.”

The Bishops School: Four-year letterwinner … two-time team MVP for the Knights as well as two-time leading scorer… team captain in 2016… All-American … four-time all-league honoree, with three first team accolades … led the Knights to three conference championships … also lettered in surf twice and was a football letterwinner.

Personal: Son of Deborah and Anthony … father played baseball at Simpson College, uncle was a kicker at Missouri … enjoys fishing, golfing and surfing.

Costa on why he chose Ohio State:
“There are very few schools in the country that provide the uniqueness of a multifaceted education. Ohio State excels academically, athletically and everywhere in-between. However, Ohio State differentiates itself in the culture it breeds and through the attitude it demands. The coaches and lacrosse team exemplify these qualities. This is why I chose Ohio State.”

2016 U19 World Championship: Played for Team Canada, earning a silver medal … appeared in all six games and had five groundballs.

The Hill Academy: Four-year starter at the Hill Academy … team captain … squad won championship … played for Orangeville club team … finished high school career undefeated.

Personal: Son of Lisa and Darren … has two siblings, Jamie and Ellie … biology major … enjoys fishing, hunting, skiing and biking.

Henrick on why he chose Ohio State:
“The first time I stepped on campus I could instantly feel the energy and passion that surrounded me. At first I thought ‘there is no way that this is real’. Everyone I met expressed their love for the school and that’s when I realized this passion isn’t just a front, but it is something deeper and runs through the roots of the school. Kirson on why he chose Ohio State:
“I chose Ohio State University not only because of its athletic tradition, but also for its academic reputation. Once I met the coaching staff and learned what it meant to be a Buckeye, I knew immediately Ohio State was where I wanted to go.”

Delta Junior Islanders/Elgin Park Secondary: Played for Delta Junior Islanders … Ohio State alum Logan Schuss is an assistant coach for the squad … 2015 First Team All-Star and team’s Offensive MVP … BCJALL Rookie of the Year after posting 98 points … member of back-to-back provincial championship teams … 2014 Team BC box lacrosse gold medalist … also played rugby and basketball … led league in scoring in rugby and was named all-province in basketball.

Salisbury on why he chose Ohio State:
“I chose Ohio State because of the outstanding lacrosse program, academics and facilities. The school has a friendly environment and I could feel that the first time I visited the campus. Also, I can see that the coaches truly care about each and every player on the team. They have created a family type atmosphere and that is something I wanted to be a part of.”
