Fusion Lacrosse is the country’s leader in box lacrosse events and will be hosting their inaugural field tournament with the West Chester invitational. Fusion Lacrosse continues to work closely with the WCYLA on this tournament as a means to create the best possible youth format for an event.
“This is a lacrosse event that has been specifically designed and will be run by lacrosse people in the industry,” said Fusion co-founder and professional MLL player Steven Holmes “That is really significant because we have experienced the ins-and-outs of what makes a great lacrosse tournament and have the tools to implement all of those positives. We have an outstanding staff and proven track record with our box tournaments, and are really excited to put forth an awesome event with the West Chester Invitational.
“This tournament will be very competitive already with the teams committed. Equally important and often overlooked is our tournament will be refereed at a extremely high level as we will be handpicking referees. Working with West Chester Youth has been extremely helpful and being a West Chester resident myself, I think we are all taking a lot of pride to help showcase the awesome town of West Chester and running a top-flight event.”
Along with Holmes and the Fusion staff, West Chester Director and former professional Dan Deckelbaum expresses his excitement and vision of the West Chester Invitational:
“There is a tremendous amount of lacrosse talent in the Philadelphia area,” Deckelbaum said. “To cater to the demand as the sport continues to grow we are proud to announce the West Chester Fall Invitational. Participating teams will play in a competitive event in Chester County, with a champion in a 1 day tournament.
“We feel that this 4 game tournament greatly increases the value compared to the usual 3 game round robin fall tournament. The price point is also significantly lower than some other events. It’s exciting to work with some of the best players and young coaches in the game like Steve Holmes and Kevin Crowley with Fusion Lacrosse who will staff the event. The WC Fall invitational will be a fun filled event with prizes, vendors, competition and champions.”
