Phillylacrosse Boys’ Rankings: PIAA playoffs begin Wednesday

The Phillylacrosse.com Boys’ Rankings:

1. Haverford School (20-5) Prev. No. 1: The Inter-Ac League champion Fords fell just short in the Inter-Ac Challenge finals, 8-7, to Culver Academy.Boys-Rankings-logo1111-300x166

2. Malvern Prep (18-5) Prev. No. 2: The Friars reached the semifinals of the Inter-Ac Challenge, bu fell to No. 1 Haverford School for the third time.

3. La Salle (18-3) Prev. No. 3: The Explorers won the Catholic League and District 12 titles and meet Bishop Shanahan Wednesday in the first round of states at Plymouth Whitemarsh.

4. Upper Dublin (20-2) Prev. No. 5: The Cardinals won their first District 1 crown and open PIAA play Wednesday vs. Cumberland Valley at Henderson.

5. Avon Grove (18-2) Prev. No. 4: The Ches-Mont champion Red Devils fell to Upper Dublin in the District 1 finals and open PIAA play Wednesday vs. Lewisburg at Mid-West High.

6. Springfield-Delco (16-7) Prev. No. 14 The Cougars earned the third state seed from District 1 and open Wednesday vs. Delaware Valley at Lake-Lehman.

7. Strath Haven (17-6) Prev. No. 9: The Central League tri-champion Panthers placed fourth in the District 1 tourney and face Southern Lehigh Wednesday in the first round of the PIAA tourney at Northampton.

8. Bishop Shanahan (18-3) Prev. No. 11: The Eagles edged Spring-Ford, 7-6, for the fifth and final District 1 state berth and open vs. La Salle Wednesday at Plymouth Whitemarsh.

9. Salesianum School-DE (14-3) Prev. No. 10: The Sals face Archmere Academy in the state semifinals on Wednesday.

10. Wilson (24-0) Prev. No. 12: The Bulldogs defeated Manheim Township, 12-9, in the District 3 title game and face Shady Side Academy in the first round of states on Wednesday

11. Spring-Ford (21-3) Prev. No. 6: The PAC-10 champion Rams fell to Bishop Shanahan, 7-6, in the District 1 fifth-place playback game.

12. Garnet Valley (16-6) Prev No. 7:The Central League tri-champion Jaguars reached the District 1 quarterfinals.

13. Conestoga (14-7) Prev. No. 8:The Central League tri-champion Pioneers reached the District 1 quarterfinals.

14. Moorestown (18-3) Prev. No. 15: The Quakers downed Clearview regional, 12-9, for the South Jersey Group 3 title and play West Morris Central Wednesday for the state title.

15. Haverford High (15-5) Prev: No. 13 The Fords fell to Springfield-Delco, 7-5, in the second round of districts.

16. Lawrenceville School (14-10) Prev. NR: The Big Red reached the Inter-Ac Challenge semifinals.

17. Lenape-NJ (17-2) Prev. NR: The Indians fell to Montgomery 15-13, in the South Jersey Group 4 title game.

18. Southern Lehigh (19-2) Prev. NR: The District 11 champion Spartans face Strath Haven Wednesday in the first round of the PIAA tourney at Northampton.
