Haverford School and Malvern Prep will meet again under the spotlight of the Inter-Ac Challenge semifinals on Friday night at Villanova University.
The two Inter-Ac League rivals advanced to the big stage Wednesday with impressive wins at the Inter-Ac Challenge quarterfinals at the Conshohocken Proving Grounds. They will play at 7:30 p.m.
Second-seeded Haverford School (19-4), the Inter-Ac League undefeated champion, toppled Penn Charter, 13-4, as Dox Aitken and Tommy McNamara led balanced scoring with two goals and an assist each. Peter Garno added two goals, Forry Smith has a goal and two assists and Johnny Nostrant had a goal and an assist.
Alex deMarco (seven saves), Parker Henderer (four saves) and Sage Garito (two saves) combined for 13 stops for the Fords, who led, 10-0, at halftime.
Cody Sweeney led the Quakers (6-14) with a goal and an assist.
Haverford defeated Malvern Prep, 10-9, and 16-12, in the regular season.
Malvern Prep 9, Episcopal Academy 2
Adam Goldner had four goals and Andrew Clark posted 10 saves as the third-seeded Friars (18-4) coasted past the seventh-seeded Churchmen.
Kyle Anderson added two goals and two assists and Billy Coyle had a goal and three assists for Malvern.
Culver Academy (IN) 15, Germantown Academy 4
The top-seeded Eagles (18-3) advanced to the semifinals with an easy win over ninth-seeded GA (10-13).
Jimmy McAfee scored twice for GA and Leroy Moser had 14 saves.
Culver will play Lawrenceville at 5 p.m.
