The Villanova men’s lacrosse teams scored 13 unanswered goals from the 4:24 point of the second quarter to beat the Georgetown Hoyas 16-4, Saturday in Big East action.
The Wildcats got on the board first just over a minute into the game on a goal by Joey Froccaro, his 11th of the season. Georgetown answered back scoring the final three of four goals in the quarter, the Villanova goal was scored by Matt McIver on a pass from Devin McNamara, the Hoyas led 3-2 at the end of one.

Johnny Gallaway got things started in the second quarter tying the game up at 3 on a pass from McNamara just 35 seconds into the half. After the goal Villanova took Nick Testa out of goal and put Dan Willis (Moorestown) in. Testa played just over 15 minutes and finished with two saves and a groundball while Willis had six saves.
Georgetown’s Daniel Bucaro scored on a man-up opportunity on a pass from Joe Bucci to give the Hoyas what would be their last lead of the game at the 11 minute mark of the second quarter.
The rest of the game was all Villanova; McNamara scored the last goal before halftime at the 4:24 mark to tie the game at 4 heading into halftime.
Jack Curran dominated the third quarter, scoring the first two goals and then assisting the next three. Curran’s second goal was on a pass from McNamara while set up two goals for Gallaway and one for Jake Froccaro.
Next it was Joey Froccaro who set his brother Jake Froccaro up for a goal that was followed by a unassisted goal by Kurtis Nasloonski, which gave the Wildcats a 11-4 lead at the end of three.
Villanova kept the scoring going it the fourth quarter. Danny Seibel started things off for the Wildcats on a pass from Curran; this was Curran’s fourth assist of the game. Next it was senior John Kluh who got a piece of the action scoring inside on a pass from Joey Froccaro.
McIver scored his second goal of the game at the 12 minute mark with the assist credited to McNamara to put Villanova up 14-4 and the scoring wasn’t over yet. Curran scored his third of goal of the game on a pass from Harry Dellafera to give him a career high seven points on the day.
The Wildcats final goal was a pass this time from Jake Froccaro to Joey Froccaro who found the back of the net and sealed Villanova 16-4 victory over Georgetown.
Testa finished with six saves and three groundballs while defender Dan Sweeney had five groundballs and two caused turnovers. Luke Palmadesso was 15-20 from the X for the Wildcats while adding five groundballs.
