Adam Goldner scored five goals and Sean Christman won 19 of 21 face-offs as Malvern Prep opened its season Friday with a 14-4 win over St. Anne’s-Belfield (VA) at the Brine King of Spring Lacrosse Classic at Durham County Stadium in North Carolina.
The Friars led, 6-1, at halftime as Kyle Anderson collected three goals and an assist and Billy Coyle had a goal and four assists. Scott White scored twice and AJ Traynor had a goal and an assist.
James Rodgers (six saves) and Will Pettit (one saves) handled the goaltending duties.
St. Stephen’s St. Agnes (VA) 6, Episcopal Academy 5
Gabriel Furey had three goals, CJ McAnally had a goal and an assist and Jake Floyd-Jones posted eight saves for EA in the opening-day loss.
